Homless

Annika and I have been homeless all week. but that's all right. tomorrow we head up to the UP. 5 hours in a van with just me and a 2 year old. I broke down and bought a in car dvd player. I figured that we would be doing this drive enough, it will keep her well entertained. I also got a bag of fun stuff for the car ride that she hasn't been allowed to play with right now.

I've had a good week hanging out with friends and family, but I am ready to get up north. I am ready to get settled and begin this next phase of life.

Busy Busy Busy

Thanks to all of our friends who helped us work on our house on Saturday. We were able to get 2 rooms and a hallway painted, and also the basement got cleaned out and the rest of the kitchen got packed up. It was great to get all of this done. I am feeling a lot less stressed out about the move now.

Dan goes up north a week from today. I can't believe that its here already.

We got the nicest care package from camp yesterday, some sweatshirts for all of us, a coloring book for annika, nametags for us all, some maple syrup from a local, homemade hot fudge and notes for us from the staff and more. we were so touched by the gesture. I can't wait to get up to camp and am looking forward to being part of that 'family.

2 Weeks

I'm giving my 2 weeks notice at work today...i'm ready for that. my boss is going to be shocked. but that's life. I hope she'll be happy for us. and take it well. There's a chance that she'll let me go today, but i'm willing to accept that. I hope that's not what happens, financially we would be really strapped for cash. I'm trusting that God will take care of us and everything that happens.

I have a peace about everything, first time in a few weeks, so I know that giving my 2 weeks today is the right decision.

Trip up north

This weekend we were able to go Camp for a work weekend. We brought both my parents and Dan's parents. The guys were able to do some work around camp and help get things open for students next week. The mom's and I were able to clean our house to start to get it ready for us to move in. We had a good time.

Here's some pictures from both this trip and the one in March.

Quick Update

We had someone look at our house today. Hopefully they will want to buy it :) But at least someone wanted to look at it :) We're praying.

My father in law said it best. God got you the job. Its your job to get the house ready and His job to sell it.

Lots of Big Changes

So about 3 weeks ago I went to California for the weekend. While there I found out that I am pregnant, which we are very excited for. I'm due at the end of November, I'll have an exact day next Wednesday, when I go in for an ultrasound...I'll be 8 weeks along at that point (I think).

But anyways, the day I got home Dan picked me up from the airport and we went up to Cedarville Michigan, which is in the UP, about 30 minutes east of the bridge right on Lake Huron. There is a camp there called Cedar Campus. Its an InterVarsity training center, and they also run several weeks of family camp there in the summer.

Dan had applied for a maintenance position there and had an interview. It went great, later that week he got the job offer and we decided to take it. There is no doubt in our minds that this is where the Lord wants us.

So this means uprooting and moving. The big part of that is selling our house. we've got it listed on Craigslist which has a link to here. We're doing lots of work on the house and hoping that it sells soon. We'll be kinda sad to leave, but know that we're going on to bigger and better things.

The plan for this blog is for it to be my way to share with people our adventure in the UP. I wont' be working and will be a full time stay at home mom, which will be new to me, but I will get to enjoy things like this on a daily basis.

I will also get to enjoy these moments too...

There's always an excuse for adding pictures of Annika :)

So anyways I've shared the link to this blog with you...please don't share anything on facebook yet about our move. I'm friends with some people from work, and they don't know that I'm moving yet, and don't want facebook to be the way they find out.
